Golden milk

Golden Milk Recipe

A healing drink to help rejuvenate the cells of your body, clear your skin, purify your eyes, help to lubricate your joints, and a plethora of other helpful healthful attributes from not only turmeric's amazing curcumin component (anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, antiseptic, analgesic, anti-carcinogenic, anti-tumor, increases digestive health, lowers triglycerides, and helps to ease neurological disorders) but also from the circulatory and digestive balancing effects of black pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger

2 cups milk (oat, almond, goat, cow, your choice and organic is best)

1-2 tsp turmeric powder

1 pinch each of cinnamon, cardamom, ginger powders (I have a spice jar that has these three spice powders mixed equally and then it's an easy shake to get all three)

2 pinches of ground black pepper

(black pepper helps make curcumin benefits of turmeric more available by 10,000)

1/4 tsp of coconut oil or ghee (optional)

mix all ingredients into a pot and bring to a boil, turn eat to low, warm for a moment more, turn off heat, add raw local honey or a dab of organic syrup to your liking

I have mixed 1/2 TBSP and a drop of maple syrup to help it be taste friendly to my children. They drink it up and I find myself feeling it like a treat drink. It is just fine without sweetening, so aim to do the minimal sweetening you need.

Raw honey is helpful for us in the spring, maple syrup as sweetener is good in the summer, fall and winter, actually both honey and maple are good in fall and early winter.

This drink tastes auspicious to me, and it's golden color reminds me of Ganesha's preferences of gold so to my kids I have called this drink Golden Ganesha Milk but to my littlest it's "Golden Oat Milk" and he loves it diluted with more oat or coconut milk and a touch less turmeric....

Enjoy Warm.
